Download
the software and run the setup.exe file to begin
installation.
You will be presented with a standard
InstallShield wizard. Configure the
wizard as you like and complete the
installation.
Note
the download file is about 10MB and will take about
15—20 minutes to download on a 56Kbps
modem.
If
you are performing an upgrade, please note where your
database file is located (e.g. if you have decided to
place it on a network drive), then perform an uninstall
of the program using the Control Panel ‘Add/Remove
Programs’ feature before installing the new
version.
Once
installation is complete you will find a TeamBuilder
icon on your desktop.
When
you first start TeamBuilder you will be asked if you
wish to create a new database or connect to existing
files. By
placing the database files on a network drive you can
allow multiple staff members to use the software and
share the same database of candidates. Please see the
separate network installation guide for
details.
You
will require either a hardware key or an internet
TeamBuilder account to use the
software.
If
you have a hardware key ensure it is plugged into your
printer port or your USB port depending on the key
type. If
you experience any problems with your hardware key
please contact the consultant who supplied it to
you.
If
you wish to use an internet key, you must meet the
following conditions:
1. Have
an internet account created. This is created
when you download the software for the first
time.
2. Activate
your account by clicking the link within the email you
receive.
This authenticates your email address and is
necessary before trying to log-in to
TeamBuilder.
3. Set
up your personal firewall to allow TeamBuilder to talk
to the internet.
It communicates on port 80.
4. Set
up your corporate firewall to allow TeamBuilder to talk
to the internet.
Since TeamBuilder talks on port 80, this should
never be an issue.
If
you are experiencing difficulties with using your
internet account, the problems are normally either that
the account hasn’t been activated or your personal
firewall is blocking access.
If
you are still having difficulties installing TeamBuilder
after reading the guide above, please email support@hallmarksolutions.com
or contact us using one of the options on the contact
page.
